Engagement
Engagements are more than just pre-wedding photos. It's the best way to break the ice and have some fun. It's like moving in with each other before getting married, unless you didn't do that. then never mind.
FILM
Film on an engagement session is a little chaotic. In a good way.
No rapid fire. No checking the back of the camera every 2 seconds. Just you two, hanging out, and me hoping I nailed it (I usually do).
It forces everything to slow down a bit. Less posing, more just existing together without overthinking it. Which is kind of the whole point of an engagement session anyway.
Also, it’s not perfect. Sometimes it’s soft. Sometimes it does its own thing. But when it hits, it hits in a way digital just doesn’t.
I shoot film alongside digital because it adds a different layer. A little more candid. A little less “we’re taking photos” and more “we forgot the camera was here.”
Plus it just looks cool. Let’s be honest.
